Sea Salt by Fogbound Knits

This relaxed pullover features a garter stitch yoke that flows around the shoulders.  Three quarter length sleeves & hem are finished with a large double stitched edging which adds a bit of texture and draws the eye downwards.  The sleeve caps and bodice are knit side to side in garter stitch, and then the body is then picked up and knit in stockinette. Front decreases under the bust keep it from being too roomy in front and a longer curved back gives you a bit more coverage where you need it. The body is finished off with a double-knit hem.  The sideways-knit garter bodice is the ideal place to use a pretty variegated yarn.

For best results, use a yarn with some drape so that the body gathers are not stiff. Superwash wool, silk blends, linen and linen blends should all work well. When in doubt, swatch! Be sure to wash and block your swatch to see how the fabric will behave.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Tosh DK by Madelinetosh (100% Merino Wool; 225yds): 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 6)  Skeins.

ALTERNATE YARN: Arroyo by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/330yds): 3 (3, 4, 4, 4, 4) Skeins.  Gorgeous, variegated yarn that is kettle-dyed in Uruguay in small batches.  Available in subtle variegations to distinct color shifts which create a lovely mottled garment. 

ALTERNATE YARN: Balance by O-Wool (50% Washable Organic Merino Wool / 50% USA Organic Cotton; 50g/130yds): 7 (8, 9, 9, 10, 11)  Skeins.  Perfect for those in temperate climates who need a touch of warmth as well as breathability.  This heathered yarn has a great hand and is available in a huge array of colors.

GAUGE: 20 sts x 28 rows = 4" in stretched garter stitch.  20 sts x 28 rows = 4" in stockinette.  You may need to use 2 different needle sizes to get gauge in stockinette & garter stitch.
